“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works” -Steve Jobs

when was the last time you saw a poster or an advertisement or a image that made you hold on for a minute?

You don’t remember?

Its not that you don’t remember its just that you may not have keenly observed it.

I bet you ,after reading this article, you will start to observe and also remember it.

so what is the first thing you do if you find a post appealing? You try to dig more and find out. Isn’t it?

Digital marketing is booming in India , which focuses more on visuals and informative content. Graphic designing is all about producing the content through the creatives, lines, shapes and images. According to marketers, graphic designing influences the decision making of the buyer and communicates visually.

So yes digital marketing and graphic designing are two different proffessions but can do wonders when combined together. The duo seems to be as of Fevicol(famous glue brand)- Majboot jod hai, tootega nahi.

1.Creates brand Identity

Now that you see a logo you can identify its purpose and the products /services they are into by just having a look at the logo. for example the youtube logo has a play button, which tells that its all about videos and audios. creating a logo is a hectic task one goes through, designers must keep in mind that the logo is easily identifyable and distinguished with that of the competitors . Creating a visually appealing logo, drives business to a great extent.

2.Helps in brand positioning

if you were given chocolates of these brands , what you think you would buy?and why?

Did you just make a decision on first glance? because you were aware about the brand and its products ?Thats the influence graphics does to position in your mind.According to studies 94 percent of the time , visuals create more engagement than the usual content.

3.Helps communicate the message effectively

The visual conveys that its an optical brand named SEARS opticals, visually representating a eagles eye and the optics. Isnt it cool? I mean that’s just mindblowing. I wonder the kind of brainstorming the designer had went into. but all the efforts are worth it.

Most of the time when words don’t communicate ,visuals do it better and simultaneously create an impact on the consumer. It can turn out to be the opposite if enough of heart and soul is not put into. It may sometimes get a little complex if not given a detailed message.

Now lets move on to the fourth wonder…

4.Distinguishes your brand when compared to others

Being different sets a bar for other brands. I personally like this brand not just for chocolates but the kind of creativity it puts into. The brand keeps on par with visuals and the brand message every single time. A thoughtful creative captures the attention and conveys the message effectively. These little details can more precisely share through graphics than written content.

5.Creates trust with audience

Ironicaly , even after the emergence of a lot of toothpaste brands , colgate remains number one. no other brand could ever replace it because of the trust it gained from the audience. Normally the brands tend to disappear after competitor captures the market, But colgate has consistent efforts and was able to place the ad in away that it could relate the audience and gain their trust.

Don’t be the number one , be the only one - unknown

6.Colors play an important role when deciding for any visual

When you’re strolling down the soft drink aisle scanning the shelves filled with 82 million cans and bottles and trying to find your six-pack of Coke, what do you look for? The scripted logo or that familiar red can?

People decide whether or not they like a product in 90 seconds or less. 90% of that decision is based solely on color. So, a very important part of your branding must focus on color.

Color theory is both the science and art of using color. It explains how humans perceive color; and the visual effects of how colors mix, match or contrast with each other. Color theory also involves the messages colors communicate; and the methods used to replicate color.

To sum up graphic designs importance in digital marketing

The business being digitalised and everyhting being online, it becomes a hectic task to grab customers attention. choosing attractive fonts, colors and templates can easily grab my focus and prompt me to dig into. The competition of the business is gradually increasing, hence businesses need to stay updated to technology and creative graphics to keep up with market and stand out amongst competitors.
